Acting President of the International Kurash Association (IKA) Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov held an online meeting with Shamsiya Saidova, Chairwoman of the IKA Women in Sport Committee. During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding women’s participation in Kurash, supporting their leadership potential, and strengthening international cooperation in this field.
At the beginning of the meeting, Shamsiya Saidova, on behalf of the Kurash Federation of Tajikistan and personally, sincerely congratulated Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov on his appointment as Acting President of the International Kurash Association and wished him success in his future activities.
During the meeting, Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov assigned Shamsiya Saidova the task of preparing a presentation for the upcoming IKA Congress and Directing Committee meeting. The presentation should include forward-looking projects, programmes, analytical surveys, and new initiatives aimed at further developing the Women in Sport direction.
As emphasised during the meeting, these initiatives should contribute to expanding women’s participation in the Kurash Movement, while further encouraging the activities of national federations and continental confederations.
The parties also exchanged views on increasing women’s participation, creating new opportunities for them, and more widely applying international best practices in this area.
