The republican final stage of the Kurash sporting event for the General Prosecutor’s Cup among youth neighborhoods, organized as part of the Five Initiatives Olympics, was held at a high level in Samarkand.
The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, First Vice President of the International Kurash Association Adkham Ikramov, Deputy Prosecutor General Sherzod Tokhtaboev, Prosecutor of the Samarkand Region Murodkosim Eshnazorov, Deputy Governor of the Samarkand Region Rustam Kobilov, and sports veterans.
Such competitions, held as part of the “Olympics of Five Initiatives” in Kurash, are of great importance for identifying talented young people in neighborhoods, encouraging them to participate in regular sports activities, and expanding sports infrastructure.
In the final stage, 126 young Kurash athletes from 14 regions of our republic competed in teams. The results of the competition were as follows: 1st place went to the team from the Navoi region, 2nd place to the Kashkadarya region, and 3rd place to the teams from the Surkhandarya region and the city of Tashkent.
The winners and runners-up were awarded diplomas, medals, and valuable gifts.
The main feature of the competition is that a universal sports ground, streetball and workout areas will be built on the territory where 36 young athletes who won in 5 weight categories among men and 4 among women are located.
This will be of great importance for promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people, organizing meaningful leisure activities for them, and further popularizing Kurash throughout the country.
