From June 12 to 17, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, successfully hosted the Pan American Kurash Championship. Within the framework of this prestigious continental championship, international seminars for referees and coaches were organised at the initiative of the International Kurash Institute, in cooperation with the International Kurash Association and the Pan American Kurash Union.
The seminar was held in a mixed format (offline and online), and refereeing training was conducted directly in Santo Domingo. The training was led by Professor Kim Eurjoong, an expert from the International Kurash Institute. He provided the referees with in-depth knowledge of the unified international rules of Kurash, evaluation criteria, and the principles of impartial and accurate refereeing.
At the same time, coaching training was organised at the Kurash Complex at the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sports. Specialists from the Caribbean region actively participated in this training, which was held online, via Zoom platform.
According to Jaime Casanova, President of the Pan American Kurash Union, the seminar was held at a high level of organisation and the specialists who participated in it acquired the most important theoretical and practical knowledge about Kurash.
More than 20 specialists from 15 national federations that are members of the Pan American Kurash Union participated in this international seminar. At the end of the training, all participants were awarded international certificates.
