On February 22-27 of this year, the international seminar and IKA exams held as part of the “Road to Asian Games” program in Saharanpur, India, has come to an end. The event was organized in cooperation with International Kurash Association, International Kurash Institute and The India Kurash Association. 50 Kurash coaches and referees from more than 10 Asian countries took part in it.

A special training program for Kurash coaches and referees was implemented within the seminar. The coaches had the opportunity to improve their knowledge by taking part in theoretical and practical training on the Kurash Usul. Then the IKA ‘A’ and ‘B’ level licence exams took place. Important lectures on Kurash techniques, tactics and modern coaching approaches were presented during the seminar.

The seminar organized for referees was focused on the analysis of complex situations that arise during competitions. The participants discussed controversial cases, and expressed their conclusions based on videos taken from real matches. At the end, IKA 2nd and 3rd level referee exams and ranking tests for admission to the Asian Games were held.

At the end of the seminar, the participants thanked the organizers and noted that such events are of great importance for the development of Kurash and improving the qualifications of referees and coaches.

The next stage of the “Road to Asian Games” program will be held in April this year in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, the Homeland of Kurash. At this stage, it is planned to organize seminars for coaches and referees, IKA licence exams and ranking tests.

This project will serve as an important platform for coaches and referees preparing for the upcoming Asian Games.
