
On March 7-8, 2026, the Panhellenic Kurash Championship among youth and teenagers was held in Amynteo, Greece. This competition was organised to identify the strongest Kurash athletes in these age categories of the country and to form the composition of the Greek national team. The winners and prize-winning athletes were selected to defend the honor of the country in future international, continental and world championships.
A total of 163 athletes from 24 sports clubs from different regions of Greece took to Gilam in the prestigious competition. The competitions were held at a high level, in a tense and uncompromising spirit.
It is noteworthy that for the first time in the history of Greek Kurash, visually impaired athletes also participated in this championship, demonstrating their perseverance and interest in sports. This is an example of the commitment of the sport of Kurash to the principles of inclusiveness and its growing popularity.
At the end of the competition, the organisers expressed special gratitude to all participating athletes, especially athletes with disabilities, for their dedication and active participation in Kurash.
