The Afghanistan Kurash Federation is implementing a new initiative aimed at training and improving the skills of Kurash coaches and referees nationwide. On this occasion, training seminars are planned to be held in all provinces of Afghanistan, and the first event was successfully held in Jawzjan province on June 26-27, 2025.
The seminar, attended by 15 coaches, provided an in-depth study of the rules, methods, and techniques of Kurash. An experienced specialist, international expert Sediqullah Nemat, participated in the event and explained 54 important methods divided into 7 groups based on the “Kurash Usul” program through practice and theory. The second day of the seminar was devoted to strengthening knowledge and skills in refereeing.
At the end of the event, a competition with the participation of 80 Kurash athletes was organised in the city of Shibirgon. This competition was held in cooperation with the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Javzjan Region and the Regional Department of the Kurash Federation.
According to the Afghanistan Kurash Federation, such seminars are planned to be organised gradually in all regions of the country. This not only improves the capacity of local coaches and referees, but also serves to popularise Kurash throughout the country.
