
The 4th Nepal National Kurash Championship was held at the Nayabazar Multi-Purpose Martial Arts Center (MMAC) in Kathmandu, Nepal, from May 28 to 29, 2025.
Teams from five provinces of the country and the Nepal Army participated in the championship. A total of 120 athletes competed.
The opening ceremony of the competition was solemnly opened by the Mayor of Budhanilkantha Municipality, Mr. Mitharam Adhikari.
The closing ceremonies were attended by Mr. Tanki Lal Gising, General Secretary of the National Sports Council of Nepal. He presented medals, certificates, and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up.
At the end of the competition, the Nepalese army won the championship, gaining the most medals in the overall team standings. This result is recognized as the outcome of the army’s strategic approach to Kurash and the high level of training of its athletes.
This championship, which combines the ancient spirit of Kurash with modern sports culture, is a significant step towards enhancing the potential of athletes and further popularizing Kurash throughout the country.
