On September 15-16, 2025, Tashkent will host a prestigious conference on the development of Kurash refereeing and the development of unified international criteria – the Global Summit on “Refereeing Standards in Kurash”.
The event is organised in cooperation with the International Kurash Association, the International Kurash Institute, the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan.
Kurash is a heritage of peoples and a sport that unites humanity. The role of referees in it, who ensure fairness and impartiality, is invaluable. The main goal of the summit is to base refereeing on a single standard in all regions of the world, exchange experiences and introduce modern technologies.
According to Mohammad Reza Nasiri, General Secretary of the International Kurash Association:
“Through the summit, we aim to unite referees from different continents and standardise training methods. The possibilities of introducing a VAR review system in Kurash are also being discussed.”
According to the summit program, on September 15, the summit will hold an opening ceremony, discussions on referee training and rules, and analysis of practical examples. On September 16, it is planned to discuss the VAR system and innovations in refereeing, adopt a refereeing manual, and adopt the “Tashkent Summit Recommendations.”
