The World Championship is the most important and prestigious competition for all sports and athletes. Every athlete’s lifelong dream is to win the world championship medal, raise their country’s flag on the stage, and hear the national anthem played.
Holding the World Kurash Championships is also organised in a prestigious manner following these aspirations.
The Host City agreement to hold the World Championships and IKA Congress was dually signed on August 17 in Ashgabat.
A two-sided agreement on holding the World Championship was signed between the President of the International Kurash Association, Haider Farman and the Chairman of the Sports Committee, Allaberdi Saparov, at the State Committee of Physical Education and Sports of Turkmenistan.
Vice-President of IKA Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov accompanied Mr Farman to the signing ceremony.
At the end of the event, the symbolic flag of the International Kurash Association was handed over to the World Championship organising committee during a special ceremony.
The XIX Congress of the International Kurash Association, directing committee meeting, a seminar and examination of kurash coaches and referees, seminar on Anti-Doping, and sport management seminar are planned to be held during this event.
Another important innovation is that this year’s World Championship registration will be organised entirely online.
A unique “IKA Registration System” platform has been developed for this purpose and is being integrated into the official IKA website.
National federations can register championship participants at www.registration.kurash.org with their login and password.
