As previously reported, the IKA technical delegation visited the Republic of Turkmenistan to discuss the technical issues related to the holding of the World Senior Kurash Championship in Ashgabat.
On the last day of the visit, a number of important points were studied in detail. Initially, an extensive inspection of the conference hall where the Directing Committee meeting and the 20th Congress of IKA will take place was conducted.
The conference hall is located on the 3rd floor of the Sport Hotel in the Olympic Village and complies with all modern requirements.
According to IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri, the Congress meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. on November 20, 2023.
In the first half of the day, it is planned to hold a meeting of the IKA Directing Committee in this conference hall.
The next destination of the visit was the sports complex where the World Championship competitions will be held.
All technical aspects of the sports complex were inspected with the participation of IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri, IKA Acting Technical Director Ravi Kapoor, Head of IKA Administration Mansur Mirzaev, Turkmenistan Kurash Federation, National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan, and the Ministry of Sports.
It should be mentioned that the World Kurash Championship will take place in the same facility where the 2017 AIMAG Program kurash competitions were held.
This complex is also located in the Olympic Village and was completed for the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
It fully meets all the requirements of international standards in sports.
At the World Championship in Ashgabat, there will be two Kurash gilams and two big LED monitors set up to watch all the matches.
Also, there is a special additional hall for training for national teams located opposite the stadium, which the teams can train before the championships.
