The first day of the Asian Senior Kurash Championship has ended.
Fierce and exciting fights, expected, and unexpected results created the atmosphere of a real Kurash holiday at Xiaoshan Lingpu Gymnasium.
The names of the long-time winners have also changed places today. For the first time in their history, the Chinese hosting a major Kurash championship expressed their opinion in Kurash. This is not only excellent from an organizational point of view but also allows a strong team to keep the gold medals.
According to the results of today’s matches, athletes from China and Uzbekistan won 3 gold medals each. Iran and Chinese Taipei won one gold medal each.
Five-time world champion, winner of the Asian Games, and many international tournaments Mukhsin Khisomiddinov began to replenish the medal collection with 2 gold medals of the Asian Championship.
He also won the 2018 Asian Championships in Pune, India.
For the first time in the history of Kurash competitions, the Kyrgyz national team won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Athletes from the Philippines and Kazakhstan also won one silver medal each.
Tomorrow, on the second day of the competition, athletes will participate in 7 more weight categories.
