Today, one of our ancient values, the spirit of kurash, is resounding in the world sports arenas and has won the hearts of millions of fans.
Today, systematic efforts are being made to popularize kurash under the Uzbek brand not only in our country, but on all continents of the world, including in European countries.
For reference, until now, prestigious international kurash tournaments and championships have been held in France, Great Britain, Italy, Hungary, Greece and other developed countries of Europe.
It is certainly gratifying that our national sport is popular in Europe and the number of young fans of kurash is increasing. This, in turn, increases the demand for experienced coaches.
Based on the current calendar plan of the International Kurash Association, on March 26-27, the delegation led by the International Kurash Institute held an international seminar for coaches and specialists of European kurash federations in cooperation with the European Kurash Confederation and the Italian Kurash Federation in one of the centers of world civilization, the ancient and legendary city of Rome.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Italy Otabek Akbarov, President of the Italian Kurash Federation Vittorio Giorgi and representatives of Italian sports organizations Antonio Langano and Paolo Anedda and others took part in the opening ceremony of the seminar organized in the “San Gabriel” sports complex.
At the end of the opening ceremony, Rector of the International Kurash Institute Khabibullo Tojiev presented souvenirs to high-ranking guests.
IKA technical director Reza Nasiri together with skilled coaches from Uzbekistan gave theoretical and practical lessons on all methods and rules of kurash for more than 40 representatives of kurash federations, kurash coaches and specialists from Italy, Greece, Malta and other European countries.
– I fell in love with kurash because of the ideas of honesty and humanism. Through kurash, I got to know Uzbekistan, the Uzbek people, their unique traditions, my respect and love for this country increased even more, – says Riza Nasiri, technical director of IKA, head of scientific department of IKI. My heart is full of pride and joy when fighting phrases like “Halol”, “Yonbosh” and “To’xta” are heard in prestigious competitions. My goal is to widely introduce the rich traditions of kurash, which has a history of three and a half thousand years, to the peoples of the world, to train many students. I was pleased to see such lively enthusiasm in the eyes of today’s seminar participants.
The master class was shown live through the ZOOM platform.
The second final day of the seminar was full of important meetings.
In particular, Fabio Kaizzo, the General Director of the National Association for Promotion of Sport “Libertas” visited the sports complex.
During the visit, it was agreed to strengthen mutual cooperation relations for further popularization of kurash sport in European countries.
At the end, all participants were presented with certificates by the International Kurash Institute.
