VII World senior championships in Alushta, Ukraine
Best male and female players from all continents of the world participated this event, which also featured for the first time the team World Cup competition among men and women

V International Islam Karimov tournament in Greece
This event is traditionally held on annual basis by the Greece Kurash Federation and the European Kurash Confederation and is dedicated to the Honorary President of the International Kurash Association and the President of Uzbekistan Mr. Islam Karimov. In 2009 strongest male players from around 20 countries of Europe, Asia and Africa competed for main money prizes of the event
