From 4 to 9 November this year, Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, will host the 15th World Senior Kurash Championship.
At present, the registration of participants is still open through the official IKA Registration System platform (registration.kurash.org). National federations are also actively registering their athletes, coaches, referees and official delegation members.
For your information, the deadline for registration of participants in the Championship is 4 October 2026.
As part of the World Championship, IKA Directing Committee meeting, the 22nd Ordinary Congress, an Anti-Doping Seminar, refereeing and coaching seminars, as well as IKA international licencing examinations are also scheduled to be held.
The Championship bouts will take place at the famous Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace in Astana. Commissioned in 2019, this modern sports complex resembles a golden eagle soaring into the sky in its exterior design.
With a capacity of 5,000 spectators, this magnificent venue regularly hosts international-level sporting competitions, major forums and cultural events. The complex is named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov, Kazakhstan’s first Olympic and World Champion, a legend of Greco-Roman wrestling and a “Hero of Kazakhstan.”
The International Kurash Association calls on all national federations avoid leaving the registration process until the final days of the deadline and to enter information about participants into the system on time.
