The regular meeting of the International Kurash Association (IKA) Directing Committee was held at the Rixos President Astana Hotel.
The meeting was attended by IKA Acting President Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov, First Vice President and Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov, Presidents of the Continental Kurash Confederations, and members of the Directing Committee.
The meeting addressed a number of important issues, including reports from the IKA leadership and continental confederations, the activities of the International Kurash Institute, admission of new national federations as members, amendments to competition and refereeing rules, as well as measures to expand Kurash’s presence on the international sports stage.
The proposals discussed and reviewed during the meeting were recommended for consideration by the XXII IKA Congress.
Later today, the XXII IKA Congress will take place at the Rixos President Astana Hotel. Representatives from 67 countries are expected to attend in person, while representatives from more than 30 other countries are expected to participate online via Zoom.
The Congress is an important event on the IKA calendar, providing a platform to discuss key issues concerning the future activities of the International Kurash Association and the further development of Kurash at the international level.
