The preparations are actively underway for the upcoming Asian Kurash Championship, which will be held from July 30 to August 5 this year in Goesan City, Republic of Korea. This prestigious event, listed among the most significant competitions on the calendar of the International Kurash Association, will commence with a historic milestone — more than 600 participants from 25 countries have officially registered, including nearly 500 athletes.

In order to ensure the high-level organization of the championship, the event is being organized under the leadership of the International Kurash Association, in cooperation with Kurash Confederation of Asia, the Korea Kurash Federation, the Goesan city administration, and Jungwon University.

The deadline for additional participant registration concluded on June 10. Currently, processes related to visa issuance and logistical arrangements are in progress.

The competition will take place at the sports complex of Jungwon University, one of the leading educational institutions in Korea. This venue is considered one of the most prestigious universities not only in Korea but also in global rankings. The facilities provided on the university campus offer all the necessary conveniences for the participants — creating an environment that resembles an Olympic village, ensuring a comfortable and memorable experience for all athletes.

According to the official schedule:

• Competitions among juniors and cadets will be held on August 2–3, On August 4, the continental champions among senior athletes will be determined.

Beyond its athletic significance, the Asian Kurash Championship is poised to serve as a powerful symbol of international friendship and cooperation, while further promoting the development and recognition of Kurash throughout the Asian continent.
