An international seminar for the referees and International Technical Officials (ITOs) who will officiate at the Kurash competitions starting tomorrow as part of the 20th Asian Games has begun its work.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the seminar, IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri, IKI Rector Khabibulla Tadjiev, and IKA Technical Director Ravi Kapoor congratulated the participants on becoming part of another important milestone in the history of Kurash.
As noted, the International Kurash Association has engaged more than 40 referees and ITOs, who are responsible for ensuring that the Kurash matches at the Asian Games are organized and officiated at the highest level. They will also be supported by around 20 local referees and technical staff.
During the seminar, the participants were provided with the necessary guidance on the most important aspects of officiating competitions, the current rules, evaluation criteria, as well as various situations that may arise in the course of refereeing.
Following the theoretical sessions, the seminar continued with practical training on the Kurash Gilam. The practical session demonstrated the technical procedures required of referees, the assessment of disputed situations, decision-making, and matters related to the management of competitions.
