Ahead of the start of the Kurash competitions at the 20th Asian Games, an important meeting was held with the participation of the leadership of the International Kurash Association and the International Technical Officials (ITOs).
The meeting, organised at the hotel designated for the ITOs, was attended by the IKA Acting President Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov, IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri, IKA President’s Advisor Umid Yakubov, IKA Technical Director Ravi Kapoor, as well as several International Technical Officials involved in the competition.
During the meeting, the overall state of preparations for the competition, the number of participating athletes and countries, the draw process, as well as technical and organisational matters were discussed in detail. In addition, matters concerning the Yaktaks to be used during the competitions, the arrangements made for athletes and officials, the programme commencing on 27 September, as well as issues related to the subsequent stages of the contests were reviewed.
It was noted by the officials that all necessary preparations were being completed in accordance with the established plan and that all conditions were in place to ensure the competitions were conducted to a high standard.
At the conclusion of the meeting, IKA Acting President Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov issued relevant instructions regarding the organisation of the competitions at a high level and ensuring that refereeing and technical procedures were carried out in accordance with international requirements.
