
Today, the opening ceremony of the international referee professional development course organized by the International Kurash Institute was held at the Kurash Hall of the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport in Chirchiq.
The course is being organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Sport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the International Kurash Association, the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport, and the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri, IKA Adviser to the President Umid Yakubov, Head of Administration Mansur Mirzaev, Technical Director Ravi Kapoor, IKI Rector Khabibulla Tadjiyev, President of the Italian Kurash Federation Vittorio Giorgi, First Vice-Rector of the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport Sherzod Mirzanov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Shukurjon Goziev, IKI experts, participants of the international seminar, and representatives of the mass media.
More than 20 international-level referees from over 10 countries are participating in this course, which is aimed at preparing for the Kurash competitions at the Asian Games to be held in Nagoya this year, further improving refereeing practices, and establishing unified international standards.
During the theoretical and practical sessions, which will continue until August 22, participants will enhance their knowledge of refereeing rules, the impartial resolution of controversial situations, evaluation criteria, the application of types of penalties, refereeing ethics, and scoring system.
