
From July 17 to 19, 2026, Paris, the capital of France, will host the International Kurash Tournament for the Prize of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This prestigious competition is being organized in cooperation with the International Kurash Association (IKA), the European Kurash Confederation (EKC), the French Kurash Federation, and the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan.
The matches will take place at the “Centre sportif Émile Anthoine” in Paris, one of the world’s leading centers for sports and culture. The tournament has IKA ranking event status, and the strongest Kurash athletes from around the world are expected to participate.
The competition aims to strengthen friendship and cooperation between countries through Kurash, expand international sports ties, improve athletes’ skills, and widely promote the philosophy of Kurash.
The tournament will be organized for seniors in the following weight categories: men (-90 kg, +90 kg) and women (-70 kg, +70 kg). Each national federation may enter two men and two women.
Winners and medalists will be awarded IKA ranking points and cash prizes. In each weight category, the first-place winners will receive 3,000 euros, the runners-up will be awarded 2,000 euros, and the third-place finishers will receive 1,000 euros. The total prize fund of the tournament amounts to 30,000 euros.
The deadline for submitting applications to participate is June 20, 2026. Federations that fail to submit their applications and travel schedules by the specified deadline will not be admitted to the competition.
In addition, each participant is responsible for obtaining the necessary visas to enter France. All national federations are also responsible for insurance matters for their delegation members.
The event program will also feature a press conference, referee seminars, technical meetings, and specialized seminars for athletes.
For reference: This prestigious international tournament for the Prize of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is traditionally held annually in Paris during the month of July. Only in 2024, due to the Summer Olympic Games being held in Paris, the competition was hosted in Rome, the capital of Italy.
