The city of Nagoya, Japan, will host a Kurash test event from June 1 to June 5, 2026, as part of preparations for the upcoming Asian Games. This tournament, designed for the East and Southeast Asia zone, will bring together leading athletes from across the region.

The competition will be organized by the Japan Kurash Federation under the supervision of the International Kurash Association. Matches will take place at a martial arts arena in Aichi Prefecture, which is also scheduled to host Asian Games competitions later in the year.

Test events held prior to the Asian Games typically serve to further develop Kurash in the region and provide an opportunity to evaluate organizational and technical systems in real competition conditions.

Athletes from Japan, the Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, and Thailand are expected to participate. The contests will follow Asian Games standards, with weight categories as follows: Men (-66 kg, -81 kg, +90 kg)
Women (-57 kg, -78 kg, +87 kg)

Additionally, international technical officials (ITOs) from the East and Southeast Asia zones will be invited to take part, as organizers test a two-day competition format.
