
The International Kurash Association (IKA), strictly adhering to international anti-doping regulations, announces the following.
On 18 June 2025, as a result of the analysis of a doping sample taken from Turkmen athlete Dayanch Omirov, the presence of Meldonium and a metabolite of Metandienone was detected in the sample, in connection with which the athlete had been provisionally suspended from competitions.
Yesterday, in accordance with the sanction decision adopted by the International Testing Agency (ITA), the said athlete was disqualified for a period of 6 years, starting from 23 July 2025 until 22 July 2031.
It is reported that during the coming week, the International Kurash Association will consider the issue of applying additional disciplinary measures against the athlete and the relevant national federation in relation to this case.
The IKA will consistently continue its firm policy aimed at ensuring compliance with international anti-doping regulations and protecting the principles of fair and clean sport.
