On May 22–23, 2026, the capital of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Dhaka, will host one of the prestigious competitions on the calendar of the International Kurash Association — the International Open Kurash Championship.
This competition will bring together the strongest athletes from various continents around the world, showcasing the next important stage in the development of modern Kurash. Within the framework of the championship, winners will be determined across different age and weight categories, and the strongest athletes on a global scale will be selected.
Athletes from national federations that are members of the International Kurash Association may participate in the championship. Each country is allowed to enter up to two athletes per weight category.
The bouts will be held at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Wooden Floor Gymnasium sports complex in Dhaka.
According to the competition schedule, the seniors will take place on May 22, the cadets and juniors competitions will be held on May 23.
The International Kurash Association invites all national federations to actively participate in this championship.
Participants must register on the “IKA Registration System” website by May 10.
