From 9 to 13 February 2026, the Uzbekistan Cup in Kurash among seniors was held at a high organizational level at the modern “So‘g‘diyona” Sports Complex in Navoi.
In the competition, more than 500 athletes from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, all regions, and Tashkent took part, with intense and uncompromising contests held in 16 weight categories among men and women for the championship titles.
The opening ceremony of the Championship was held in a festive atmosphere. During the ceremony, the Prosecutor of Navoi Region and Chairman of the Regional Kurash Federation, Abduqahhor Mullajonov, addressed the participants and spectators, congratulating them on this sporting celebration. In his speech, he emphasized that the international prestige of Kurash is growing year by year and that the number of people practicing this sport in our country continues to expand. He then officially declared the competition open.
Following the performance of the National Anthem of Uzbekistan, representatives of the federation presented letters of appreciation on behalf of the Chairman of the Uzbekistan Kurash Federation to the organizers who contributed to holding the event at a high level.
According to the final results, the Tashkent team won the Uzbekistan Cup in the overall team standings. Bukhara Region finished in second place, while the teams of Syrdarya Region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan took third place.
This prestigious competition held in Navoi serves as an important step toward increasing the popularity of our beloved sport, discovering new talents, and further strengthening the position of Kurash in the Republic.
