
The International Kurash Association (IKA) has approved the official calendar of international competitions and educational events for 2026.
According to the calendar, more than 50 international events are planned under the auspices of the IKA in 2026. These include World and Continental championships, international tournaments, World Series Pro (WSP) Ranking competitions, as well as licensing and advanced training courses for coaches and referees.
The 2026 calendar includes championships on four continents – Asia, Europe, Africa, and Pan America – with more than 80 countries expected to participate in these competitions. Educational programs will cover more than 50 countries worldwide in online and hybrid formats.
This year, Kurash fans can look forward to a number of major international events. In particular, the calendar includes two World Kurash Championships, Continental championships, WSP Ranking competitions, and the CISM Kurash World Challenge Cup tournament.
Official Kurash competitions are also included in the program of the World Nomad Games (Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan) and the 20th Asian Summer Games (Aichi-Nagoya, Japan).
The 2026 calendar also includes the international tournament for the Prize of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, traditionally held in Paris, France. This competition is considered one of the most prestigious international tournaments on the IKA calendar and will further enhance the international prestige of Kurash on the European continent.
The educational and licensing programs implemented by the International Kurash Association and the International Kurash Institute will continue in 2026. During the year, it is planned to hold 12 international seminars, 6 licensing courses (licenses A and B), and 5 hybrid refereeing courses. As part of these programs, it is planned to train more than 500 coaches and referees in accordance with international standards.
The IKA’s 2026 calendar plan reflects a consistent and systematic strategy aimed at developing Kurash as a global sport. The year 2026 is expected to be an important milestone for the IKA in terms of geographical coverage, number of competitions, and scope of educational programs. The first program of the year starts on the 24 Jan 2026 at 13.00 GMT with the interesting topic of Sports Injury, Sports Medicine and Anti Doping seminar for all Kurash Family world wide.
