September 15, 2025, in accordance with the decision of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Bahrain Asian Youth Games Organizing Committee (BAYGOC), the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has officially announced that Kurash will be included in the program of the III Asian Youth Games.
This decision aims to instill respect for the ancient sporting traditions of Asia’s peoples, promote a healthy lifestyle among young people, and expand the games’ program.
The Kurash competitions will be held in four weight categories: boys: -65 kg and -83 kg, girls: -52 kg and -70 kg.
The International Kurash Association (IKA) considers this decision to be clear evidence of the growing recognition of Kurash as a sport on the International stage.
The IKA expresses its gratitude to the Olympic Council of Asia, the Bahrain Asian Youth Games Organizing Committee, the Government of Uzbekistan, and the Tajikistan Kurash Federation for their support in these processes.
The IKA calls on all National Olympic Committees and National Kurash Federations in Asia to actively participate in these prestigious games in Bahrain.
As registration for athletes is open as of today, we kindly ask you to register your teams as soon as possible through your respected NOC.
