
Today in Tashkent, a productive meeting took place between the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan and First Vice-President of the International Kurash Association, Adkham Ikramov, the President of the International Kurash Association, Haider Farman, and the Head of the Administration, Mansur Mirzaev.
During the discussions, issues of further increasing the prestige of Kurash on the world sports stage, its inclusion in international sports programs, and its widespread promotion among youth were discussed.
In particular, the President of the IKA informed that negotiations are underway to include the sport of Kurash in the program of the “Bahrain-2025” Asian Youth Games. It was also emphasized that Kurash has been included as an official sport in the Islamic Solidarity Games to be held in 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This decision was recognized as further strengthening the global reputation and prestige of Kurash.
The meeting also reviewed the work being done and future plans for the further popularization of Kurash, preserving and nurturing its roots and values, and introducing it to the world.
At the end of the meeting, proposals and initiatives were put forward regarding the full recognition of Kurash in the international sports system and its participation in prestigious sporting games.
