Today, the official opening ceremony of the Asian Kurash Championship among seniors, cadets and juniors was held at the Cultural and Sports Center sports complex in Geosan, South Korea.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the International Kurash Association, the Kurash Confederation of Asia, local organising committee and delegations of the participating countries.
The opening ceremony traditionally began with the solemn raising of the flags and names of the participating countries. The hall was decorated in a festive spirit, reflecting the harmony of national and sports traditions, and the Geosan Cultural and Sports Center was prepared to the fullest extent for the competition.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the International Kurash Association Haider Farman, General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri, President of the Kurash Confederation of Asia Komil Ruziev, leaders of the Goesan city administration, Jungwon University, and the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea as guests of honor:
Speaking at the event, the President of the Kurash Confederation of Asia Komil Ruziev extended sincere congratulations to all participating countries and highly appreciated the conditions created by Korea. In his speech, he particularly emphasised the role of Kurash not only as a sport, but also as a symbol of national values and friendship:
“Kurash is a sport that embodies the criteria of skill, will and humanity. Its development, popularity and increasing influence on our continent not only pleases us, but also increases our responsibility,” said the President of the KCA.
The ceremony was attended by athletes and referees, who took the traditional oath. They solemnly confirmed that they will adhere to the rules, prioritise the principles of fairness and honesty throughout the Championship.
President of the Kurash Confederation of Asia, Komil Ruziyev, officially declared the championship open.
The high level of organisation, wide participation and solemn atmosphere of the opening ceremony once again confirmed the growing prestige of Kurash on the continent. The heads of delegations from different countries especially recognised the high level of organisation of the competition.
