One of the important preparatory processes for the Asian Kurash Championship, which will start on August 2, a refereeing seminar has started. Today, in the afternoon, the conference hall of Jungwon University in Geosan, South Korea, was filled with about 50 referees and specialists.

In accordance with the championship program, on the initiative of the International Kurash Institute, practical and theoretical seminars for referees and coaches, as well as the IKA examinations for 1-, 2- and 3-stars are organised under the leadership of the International Kurash Association.

The official opening ceremony of the seminar was attended by the IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri, Head of the IKA Administration Mansur Mirzaev, Rector of the International Kurash Institute Khabibulla Tadjiev, IKA Sports Director and Chairman of the Championship Organising Committee Bae Hyeongsik, as well as IKA and IKI experts.

Speaking at the event, IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri expressed his sincere gratitude to the participants and noted the growing authority and responsibility of the refereeing system. He also noted that the training and retraining of experienced referees has become one of the IKA’s priorities in recent years.

In his speech, the Rector of the International Kurash Institute Khabibulla Tadjiev noted the high level of organisation of the seminar and noted that such events are held not only before the Championship, but also regularly throughout the year. He noted that this gives referees and coaches an opportunity to constantly improve their knowledge and skills.

In the theoretical part of the seminar, Prof. Kim Eur Joong, Head of the Education Department of the IKI, gave a detailed video presentation on the basic rules of refereeing, such as Tazim, Yonbosh, Dakki and Tanbekh, and their precise explanations, as well as possible mistakes in refereeing.

The seminars will continue until August 2. Referees who have achieved high results in the seminars and exams will receive the corresponding IKA star certificates.
