Located in the southern part of the Fergana Valley, in the mountains, the city of Khanabad in Andijan region is today famous not only for its natural beauty, but also for its high respect for sports traditions, in particular, for Kurash. Continuing these traditions, Khanabad will host another important sporting event in 2025.
On August 12-14, 2025 in Khanabad city of Andijan region will be held the Kurash Tournament “KHONOBOD OPEN”.
The competition is organized jointly with the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan, Administration of Andijan region, regional prosecutor’s office, regional department of sports and Kurash Federation of Andijan region. The tournament will be attended by teams from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the city of Tashkent and all regions, as well as invited Kurash athletes from foreign countries.
Competitions will be held in accordance with the “International rules of Kurash” in the following weight categories: men: -66 kg, -73 kg, -81 kg, -90 kg, + 90 kg, as well as absolute weight category and women: -57 kg, -70 kg, +70 kg.
A cash prize of 30 million soums for the first place, 20 million soums for the second place and 10 million soums for the third place was announced.
The winner in the absolute weight category will be awarded with a Chevrolet Cobalt car.
All accommodation expenses for 3 athletes and 1 coach from a foreign country will be paid by the Organizing Committee.
