Exactly a week ago, Tashkent hosted major international seminars on Kurash.
The International Kurash Association and the International Kurash Institute held the final practical stage of the 3-month online Course for Kurash Coaches. The ITO ranking seminar and exams were organised under the “Road To Asian Games” Program, a new stage of the Asian Games qualification system.
By the IKA and IKI PR teams it is planned to bring to your attention the opinions and impressions of the Tashkent Seminar participants.

My interest in Kurash is primarily due to its rich historical heritage and cultural background. This sport involves not only physical skills, but also spiritual values - such concepts as respect, justice, honesty. As an athlete and a referee, the spiritual foundations of Kurash interest me in every way. Especially in the refereeing, the unique discipline and high culture of this sport are of particular importance.
Unlike other modern sports, Kurash is developing while maintaining traditional moral standards. Respect for the opponent, fair competition, and the purity of the competition are considered the top priorities in it. As a referee, I not only monitor the rules, but also feel responsible for protecting the cultural spirit of the sport, adhering to these principles.
The 3-month online course organised by the IKA and the IKI was theoretically well-structured and provided a solid foundation. However, the practical training in Tashkent was much more influential and efficient for me. Through these trainings, I had the opportunity to try out the methods of Kurash in practice and study them thoroughly under the guidance of specialists.
My greatest asset within the framework of this course was the process of exchanging experience with athletes from different countries. From a technical point of view, I significantly advanced my knowledge in catching and throwing techniques. In the future, I plan to effectively use this knowledge in my refereeing and coaching activities.
Tashkent made a great impression on me with its historical environment and modern infrastructure. Here I not only participated in sports training, but also felt the true cultural essence of Kurash. One of the most pleasant aspects was the sincerity and hospitality inherent in the Uzbek people. Tashkent became for me not only the center of Kurash, but also a symbol of humanity and values.
