On March 23, the most prestigious championship of the country’s Kurash federation was held at the Daerim University’s sports complex located in Anyang, Republic of Korea.
This championship is one of the most important competitions within the framework of preparation works for the continental championships to be held in Korea this year, and the Kurash athletes, who took part in it, in turn, tested their skills.
More than 150 athletes from 13 regions of the Republic of Korea participated in the competition. As part of the national championship among seniors, cadets and juniors, the Korean Kurash Federation organised a refereeing seminar, as well. This seminar was held to contribute to the development of Kurash in the country and to increase the experience of referees.
According to Hyeong Sik Bae, President of the Korean Kurash Federation, the winners and prizewinners of the national championship will be selected for the Korean national team.
These athletes will defend the country’s honour at the Asian Championships among seniors, cadets and juniors, which Korea will host this year.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan to Korea and a number of companies have contributed to the organisation of the competition at a high level. The Korean Kurash Federation is deeply grateful to these organisations for their cooperation and sponsorship.
