Unlike traditional Kurash competitions, beach Kurash is distinguished by the fact that it is held directly on the seashore and on open sandy areas. This format is more interesting and attractive not only for athletes, but also for local spectators and tourists.
International beach Kurash competitions have been regularly organized by the International Kurash Association (IKA) since 2013. Until now, international beach Kurash championships have been held in countries such as Chinese Taipei and the Republic of Korea.
Also, Kurash was included as an official sport in the Asian Beach Games held in Phuket, Thailand in 2014 and Danang, Vietnam in 2016.
This national championship, held for the first time in Vietnam, was an important step towards further popularizing the beach format of Kurash.
