The West Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia, known for its beautiful mountains and beaches, is hosting a major sporting event that will draw Kurash fans from August 28 to September 2, 2025.
The 2nd KUSEA Championship and the inaugural 1st KUSEA Beach Kurash Championship are important milestones in the development of Kurash and strengthening cooperation between Southeast Asian countries. This year’s championship will include not only traditional Kurash competitions, but also a new format held on the beach. The competitions, which will be held in the open and indoor areas of the Merumatta Senggigi Hotel, will showcase various aspects of Kurash. Beach Kurash, on the other hand, will allow athletes to use new strategies and techniques to win on the sandy terrain.
The competition covers various age groups, from seniors to young children. With weight categories for men and women, each athlete has the opportunity to test their strength and skills.
The participation of the member-countries of the International Kurash Association will bring this event to an international scale. The competition will serve as an excellent platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience not only for athletes, but also for coaches and referees. Delegations from each country will have the opportunity to demonstrate their national traditions and get to know other cultures.
