A delegation led by the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit. The delegation also included the country’s Minister of Sports Shalva Gogoladze, who held a meeting with the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan and First Vice-President of the International Kurash Association Adkham Ikramov.

At the beginning of the meeting, the parties congratulated each other on the achievements of Uzbek and Georgian athletes at the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games and XVII Paralympic Games held in Paris in 2024. Adkham Ikramov also provided information about the reforms being implemented in the sports sector in Uzbekistan, existing and newly constructed sports facilities, and the conditions created for the physical and mental preparation of athletes.

During the meeting, issues of further strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia in the field of sports, organizing training camps, and developing Kurash in Georgia were discussed. In particular, views were exchanged on the preparations for the European Kurash Championship, which will be held in Batumi on April 9-15 of this year.
