On February 28, 2025, the sport of Kurash was demonstrated for the first time as part of the “Youth Festival-2025” held in the cities of Kusumpur, Sirajdihan and Munshiganj, Bangladesh. A training seminar on Kurash, a special seminar for referees and demonstration performances were organized during the festival.
According to Humayun Kabir, President of the Bangladesh Kurash Association, the events organized within the framework of the festival were an important platform for exchanging experiences not only for athletes, but also for coaches and referees.
At the opening ceremony of the event, Mostak Ahmed, Vice President of the Bangladesh Kurash Association, having a speech, wished the participants success and provided detailed information about the history, rules and development of Kurash in the international arena.
During the seminars, the participants were introduced to modern training methods, refereeing rules and best practices in Kurash. The performances aroused great interest among the audience. At the end of the festival, the organizers agreed to organize additional training programs and seminars to further develop the sport of Kurash. This initiative will serve to popularize Kurash among the youth of Bangladesh and create new opportunities for participation in international competitions.
