On April 9-14, 2025, Batumi, Georgia will host the European Kurash Championship for the first time. In this prestigious event, Kurash athletes compete for victory among Senior, Junior and Cadet Kurash athlete.
An International Seminar of Kurash Referees and Coaches, the Congress of the European Kurash Confederation and a meeting of the Directing Committee are also planned within the framework of the Championship.
President of the European Kurash Confederation Merampi Iliadis noted that the Ministry of Sport of Georgia, the Ministry of Education and Sport of Adjara, the Kurash Federation of Georgia carry out extensive work for holding this championship at a high level.
It should be reminded that a few weeks ago the President of the Confederation Merampi Iliadis met with the Minister of Sport of Georgia Shalva Gogoladze to discuss issues related to the organization of competitions at a high organizational level.
Batumi is not only a venue for sporting events, but also one of the most attractive tourist centers in Europe. This city, located on the Black Sea coast, attracts tourists with its modern skyscrapers, unique historical architecture and rich culture.
It is expected that this championship, which will be held in Batumi, will further popularize Kurash in Europe, provide young athletes with experience in the International arena and lay the foundation for the appearance of new Kurash stars.
