In Saharanpur, India, the 1st qualifying tour of the Kurash Referee Ranking under the Road to Asian Games program started. Around 50 referees from more than 10 countries are participating in the event. These seminars are aimed at improving the development and quality of International Kurash refereeing and are held at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Sports Complex.

The seminar provides theoretical and practical training to the referees, teaching them the intricacies of the sport of Kurash. Refereeing not only determines the victory or defeat of the athletes but also plays an important role in raising the prestige of sports and making it attractive. Therefore, the seminar provides detailed explanations on the basic principles of refereeing, scoring criteria, and analysis of difficult situations.

During the seminar referees discuss complex situations arising during the game and demonstrate the methods of their scoring with practical examples. These practices are aimed at improving the referees skills and preparing them for real competitions.

In the final part of the event, the IKA plans to hold examinations for the 2 and 3 star levels. Referees who achieve high scores in these exams will receive valuable ranking points to participate in the 2026 Asian Games in Achi Nagoya, Japan. This will enhance their opportunities to participate in International competitions and promote the sport of Kurash globally.

This event is an important step in professionalizing International Kurash referees and ensuring fair and transparent evaluation of the sport.
