A meeting was held yesterday between the IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri and the President of the Romanian Kurash Federation Naim Bilgen at the headquarters of the International Kurash Association (IKA).
At the meeting, the issues of organizing the “Quriltoy” international cultural and sports festival and Kurash competitions were discussed.
Since 2017, this festival, which has been held in the city of Constanta on the Black Sea coast of Romania, is becoming one of the largest cultural and sports events in the world. It is held in cooperation with the Association of Democratic Tatars of Romania, the representative office of UNESCO in Romania, the Romanian Kurash Federation and other organizations.
The prestige of the festival is increasing year by year. Only in 2017, representatives of 4 countries participated, and in 2019, delegations from 15 countries participated. In 2024, more than 5,000 participants and spectators from more than 30 countries visited “Quriltoy”.
Cultural events, intellectual games and Kurash competitions are organized within the festival. This festival is included in the official calendar of the International Kurash Association for 2025.
It is noteworthy that this year’s “Quriltoy” festival and Kurash competition will be held on September 6 – World Kurash Day.
At the meeting, Naim Bilgen gave information about the preparations for the festival, and Mohammad Reza Nassiri made technical and organizational suggestions for organizing Kurash matches at a high level.
