Today, the opening ceremony of the International Kurash Referee Seminar was held at the Center for the Development of Olympic and Paralympic Sports in Tashkent. President of the International Kurash Association Haider Farman personally participated in the event.

Moreover, there were Mohammad Reza Nassiri, General Secretary of the IKA, Mansur Mirzaev, Head of the IKA Administration, Habibulla Tadjiev, Rector of International Kurash Institute, Farrukh Saidkulov, Secretary General of the Kurash Confederation of Asia, Bakhtiyor Kadirov, First Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan Kurash Federation, Uygun Umarov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation, as well as, 110 visiting referees from all regions of the country and media representatives participating at the seminar.

Making a speech at the opening ceremony, the IKA President Haider Farman noted that these seminars are an important step in the development of Kurash and wished the participants success in learning new knowledge and experiences.

The main goal of the seminar is to ensure the implementation of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-450, signed on December 20, 2024, “On measures to develop Kurash as a national sport and further increase its international prestige” and to turn Kurash into a public sport, promote it widely in the international arena and turn it into a world sports masterpiece.

After that, the IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri had a speech and emphasized that the image of the sport depends on the fair decisions of the referees. Experienced and knowledgeable referees not only manage the matches with quality, but also directly contribute to the development of sports, he noted.

During the seminar, the IKA President got acquainted with the activities of the Center for the Development of Olympic and Paralympic Sports and the Kurash Department located there. He gave recommendations to specialists on further improvement of activities and emphasized the importance of introducing international standards for Kurash.

This seminar, organized by the Uzbekistan Kurash Federation, will last until February 7.
