Referee Exams for “1-Star” level and International Coaching “B” Licence Exams on Kurash are being held by the International Kurash Association (IKA) in Mersin, Turkey. The event started with theoretical and practical seminars in the conference hall of SWISS INN HOTEL in Mersin.
About 50 referees and coaches have been participating in the seminar. They had the opportunity to develop their skills based on theoretical rules and practical trainings.
In the first half of the day, IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri gave a presentation on the theoretical foundations, rules, techniques of “usul”s and tactics of Kurash. During the seminar, spiritual and technical aspects of Kurash were covered in detail.
In the afternoon, the seminar continued with practical trainings. The trainings were conducted by Olim Ravshanov, an expert of the International Kurash Institute. He provided a special video guide and practical instructions on Kurash “usul”s.
The participants were divided into 7 groups and performed 56 basic Kurash “usul”s and refereeing procedures in competitions on Kurash gilam. This process served as a significant platform for improving refereeing skills and strengthening the competence of coaches.
Exams start tomorrow. The participants with highest results will achieve:
• 1 star level in Kurash refereeing,
• International coaching B licence.
This event is an essential step towards the further development of Kurash in Turkey and professional training of athletes.
