The International Kurash Association (IKA) would like to address recent claims circulating on social media regarding the Uzbekistan Kurash Federation (UKF) not fulfilling its responsibilities in inviting members of the Pan American Union to the World Series Pro Final (WSP).
IKA would like to clarify that the majority of qualified participants for the WSP hailed from the Dominican Republic. However, due to a delay in responses regarding ticket purchases and the non-acceptance of the routes proposed by UKF, coupled with the limited availability of seats, UKF was unable to secure tickets in time. The delay resulted in either a lack of availability or significant price increases for tickets.
On the other hand, participants from other Pan-American countries, such as Mexico, responded promptly, and tickets were successfully purchased for those individuals.
IKA also wishes to remind all concerned parties that Article 4 of the IKA Disciplinary Code may be applied to individuals or federations who engage in actions that defame the image of the IKA or its members.
