The III World Kurash Championship among veterans is considered as one of the most prestigious Kurash competitions. The International Kurash Association is resuming the veterans’ competition after a 17-year break.
Usually fights involving famous Kurash athletes who have completed their careers or have been active in coaching sports for a long time always arouse the interest of fans.
The last day of the Kurash World Championship, which took place in Ulaanbaatar, was no exception and was rich in interesting fights and techniques.
The III World Kurash Championship among veterans, which was attended by about 90 athletes in 9 age categories, went down in the history of Kurash.
Uncompromising fights and the skills of athletes have become part of this story.
The hosts of the competition, who won medals, topped the overall standings.
In total, the Mongolian national team has 16 medals, including 5 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze medals.
Uzbek athletes took the second place. 4 gold, 5 silver and one bronze medals went to representatives of the Kurash Homeland.
The third place was taken by athletes from Chinese Taipei, who won 2 gold medals.
In addition, athletes from Iran, India, Kyrgyzstan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Egypt, France, Malta, Mauritania, Congo and China entered the medal standings.
