In the second half of the day, the official opening ceremony of the IX World Kurash Cadets and Juniors Championship and III World Kurash Veterans Championship took place at the “Mongolian Wrestling Palace”.
At the opening ceremony, in the presence of spectators, the names of the participating countries were announced one by one.
After that, the President of the International Kurash Association Haider Farman, the Chairman of the State Committee for Physical Education and Sports of Mongolia Osor Battulga, and the President of the Mongolian Kurash Federation Tsend Sukhbaatar made speeches.
In his speech, Mr. Osor Battulga said that the city of Ulaanbaatar has been breathing Kurash for several days. On behalf of the Mongolian government, he expressed gratitude to the International Kurash Association for being entrusted with hosting this championship.
Next, the President of the International Kurash Association Haider Farman gave a speech. The President of the IKA expressed his sincere gratitude to the organizers for their services in organizing a wonderful Kurash competition.
He wished all the Kurash athletes who visited Mongolia from more than 30 countries good luck in their Kurash matches.
He acknowledged that the World Championship among cadets, juniors and veterans, despite being held after a long break, created a special atmosphere for the participants.
IKA announced that in the future, championships in this age category will be organized regularly.
In the end of his speech, the IKA President officially declared the World Kurash Championship among cadets, juniors and veterans open.
After the national anthem of Mongolia, the cultural part of the event began.
Stage performances reflecting the culture, history and national art of the Mongolian people created a special festive atmosphere for everyone.
During the event, a group of organizers who were active in organizing the championship were awarded with commemorative gifts from the International Kurash Association.
