The Ordinary Congress of the International Kurash Association has been held within the framework of the World Championship among Cadets, Juniors and Veterans, hosted by the Mongolian city of Ulaanbaatar.
Delegates from about 50 countries participated physically and online the meeting organized in the “Independence Palace” conference hall in Ulaanbaatar.
According to the decision of the International Kurash Association Directing Committee, representatives of national federations and members of the IKA Directing Committee had the opportunity to participate in the Congress via the Zoom platform.
The Congress was opened by the President of the International Kurash Association, Haider Farman.
In his speech, the IKA President congratulated all members of the Kurash family and the participants of the championship on the fact that another new page in the history of Kurash is being written.
He noted that after a long break, the Kurash competitions between cadets, juniors and veterans will remain an unforgettable memory for everyone.
Then, the Chairman of the Mongolian Committee for Physical Education and Sports, Osor Batulga, addressed the Congress and expressed his pleasure at seeing all the participants in Mongolia.
He acknowledged that the Mongolian government supports Kurash as the most popular sport, and that Mongolian Kurash athletes are achieving high results in international competitions.
After that, the First Vice-President of the International Kurash Association, Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Adham Ikramov, spoke via videoconference.
In his speech, he expressed his sincere gratitude to all the organizers and the host country’s Ministry of Sports on behalf of the government of Uzbekistan for organizing the prestigious World Kurash Championship at a high level.
According to the agenda of the Congress, first, the President of the host Mongolian Kurash Federation, Ganbatar Begz, made a report on the work related to the organization and holding of the championship.
After that, reports on the activities of the International Kurash Association by President Haider Farman, Presidents of the Continental Kurash Confederations, Technical Director of IKA, and Rector of the International Kurash Institute for 2024 were heard.

Another point at the Congress was the issue of introducing additions and amendments to the IKA Statutes which was adopted by the delegates by vote.
In order to prevent disputes related to national Kurash federations, athletes and referees, and to regulate systematic work on Kurash, the Congress adopted the “IKA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee Code”.
The Code elaborates in detail the conditions related to the recognition of national federations, disciplinary requirements for athletes and referees, national federation officials, and other such cases. Also, during the Congress, many issues were discussed, such as membership in organizations such as the Islamic Solidarity Games, AIMS, the International School Sports Federation, IBSA, UNESCO, and ongoing cooperation at the end a group photo was taken and a welcome party by the President of Mongolian Kurash Federation.
