The tournament “Uzbek polvon” has been annually being organized since 2021 in order to improve the physical development of employees of state bodies, institutions and organizations, to increase their interest in mass sports and Kurash, to form a healthy lifestyle among them, and to widely promote Kurash as a national sport.
This year, the names of the current tournaments’ winners have been determined on the second day of this Kurash week in Tashkent.
In the tournament organized in 10 weight categories, the employees from over 100 state bodies and organizations went to gilam.
Men with -73 kg, -81 kg, -90 kg, -100 kg, +100 kg weight categories, women with -57 kg, -63 kg, -70 kg, -78 kg, +78 kg weight categories used all their mastery and strength for victory.
Yesterday, Kurash athletes, coaches and Kurash fans witnessed the true Kurash celebration in the Universal Sports Palace.
The referee team, headed by Hikmat Kurtov, approved by the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan, manages the qualifying, semi-final and final stages of the competition.
In the end, The Kurash athletes from Samarkand took the first place as a team.
The winners will be awarded with a trophy with the symbol of “Uzbek polvon”, valuable gifts, and each participant of the team will be awarded with diplomas and souvenirs. Moreover,Second and third place Kurash athletes will be awarded with diplomas and valuable gifts.
