The Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan has been organizing many competitions near the end of the year for several years.
This year’s competition continues
In cooperation with the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Agency for Youth Affairs, Uzbekistan kurash federations and the National Olympic Committees, a large Kurash week is being held November 13-17 at the Universal Sport Palace in Tashkent.
Within the framework of the week, as part of “Olympiad of Five Initiatives” among young people living in all neighborhoods of the Republic, the final stage of the Cup of the General Prosecutor’s Office, “Uzbek Polvoni” competition among employees of state bodies, “Prosecutor Polvoni” tournament among employees of the Prosecutor’s Office, Republican tournament among veterans aged 46-55 years amongst men, “Princesses of Kurash” competition among women were held.
Today the first competition of the week determined its winners.
This year, Kurash Week began with the competition for the Prosecutor General’s Cup as part of the “Olympiad of Five Initiatives”, in which almost 500 thousand Kurash athletes from all regions of the country took part.
The competitions organized in 9 weight categories were passionate and intense.
The official opening ceremony of the competitions gave Kurash fans a festive mood. The performance of young Kurash athletes and masters of arts aroused great interest among the audience.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan Nigmatilla Yuldashev, the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, First Vice-President of the International Kurash Association Adkham Ikramov and the Chairman of the Agency for Youth Affairs Alisher Saʼdullayev.
The speakers wished the participants good luck. They acknowledged that Kurash is not only a physical sport, but also a value that calls people to honesty, tolerance and courage.
Also speaking at the opening ceremony were IKA Vice President and Chairman of the Board of the National Media Association of Uzbekistan Prof. Sherzodkhon Kudratkhuja, IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri, IKA Head of Administration Mansur Mirzaev, Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee Sherzod Tashmatov, General Secretary of Uzbekistan NOC Oybek Kasimov and ministries, heads of departments, media representatives and athletes.
At the end of the opening ceremony, the final of the competition took place.
The team of Surxondaryo Region won 6 gold and 1 bronze medals and became the owner of the main prize of the competition – the Cup of the Prosecutor General.
Winners and runners-up were awarded with valuable gifts and money prizes.
The weekly competition “Uzbek Polvoni” will be held tomorrow.
Representatives of state bodies, ministries and departments will come to the Gilam.
