Bahrain’s capital, Manama, is currently hosting the ISF Gymnasiade—Bahrain 2024, organized by the International School Sports Federation. This international sporting event, running from October 23 to 31, is setting a record with over 5,000 participants from 70 countries, marking the highest number in the Games’ history.
The event features 26 sports, including four para sports, showcasing a diverse range of athletic talent.
Today, the ISF’s educational forum commenced its activities within the framework of the Games. Held at the Bahrain World Exhibition Centre, the forum focuses on the impact of school sports on youth, education, and health and on promoting the values and goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through school sports.
The forum was inaugurated by Dr. Mohammad Bin Mubarak Juma, the Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Bahrain, who delivered a welcoming speech. Following this, Youssef Belqasmi, Acting President of ISF, presented on “Improving the Skills of Youth Through Sports.” The forum features approximately 15 additional lectures and presentations, fostering insightful discussions on the importance of sports in education. Arab Bureau of Education leaders were also present with their ideas, sponsoring the future youth in different programs.
Notably, IKA Vice President Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov is participating in this prestigious forum. During the Games, he plans to hold meetings with the leadership of the International School Sports Federation to discuss potential collaborations and initiatives.
This forum highlights the integral role of sports in shaping the future of youth and education, making a significant impact in the community and beyond. Tomorrow more meeting are planed and IKA Vice President Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov will hold discussions regarding Kurash and ISF.
