The “Week of International Cooperation Initiatives” in Uzbekistan coincides with significant political events, including upcoming elections for Parliament and local councils on October 27. This week has seen a robust engagement of over 300 international partners participating in more than 50 meetings and discussions focused on various initiatives.
A highlight of the week was the international roundtable titled “A Perfect and Healthy Generation – the Foundation of the Future of New Uzbekistan.” This event gathered national and foreign experts, representatives from international organizations, and civil society to explore strategies for promoting youth engagement in sports and fostering a healthy lifestyle.
Adham Ikramov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Sports, emphasized the importance of these initiatives in his opening remarks. He discussed ongoing efforts to involve young people in sports as part of the country’s strategic vision. Additionally, Mohammad Reza Nassiri, the General Secretary of the International Kurash Association, spoke on the global promotion of Kurash, the national sport of Uzbekistan, highlighting its historical significance and future prospects.
The event also featured a compelling video showcasing the growth and impact of Kurash, which captured the interest of attendees.
