Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, will host the IV Asian Youth Games in less than a year.
Kurash competitions will also be held as part of the Continental Youth Olympic Program, scheduled for September 7-17.
The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced this in a letter to the International Kurash Association.
The games’ program includes 24 sports in total, and 16 weight categories in Kurash are expected to be held.
The Tashkent 2025 Asian Games are intended to be special preparation for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, which will be held in Dakar.
Therefore, the participants must be over 14 and under 17 years old—athletes born not before 2008 and not after 2011.
At the same time, significant preparations are underway for the Asian Youth Games in Tashkent.
The Olympic city is being built on an area of 100 hectares in the Yashnabad district of the capital.
The city is building an athletics and football stadium with 10,000 seats, 6 indoor and 7 outdoor sports facilities, a palace of water sports, a bicycle path, and martial arts and team sports complexes.
All conditions are being created in the Olympic city in accordance with the requirements of the Olympic Council of Asia and International sports federations. An administrative building, a hostel, a museum, and utility facilities are also planned there.
